Shortcut to kill not responding programs in Windows XP Pro

I am a Microsoft Windows user and often use WinXP professional edition for my day to day online activity. While working I often gets application stuck and displaying not responding. It does not respond to any keyboard shortcut (ALT+F4) to kill the application.
