Recently I purchased, Android tablet named NotionInk Adam. I installed the Dolphin Browser HD web browser which is an awesome browser for Android.
One of the key feature I liked about it, was using gesture command. You can assign your own gesture to your favorite website. I can open website without typing URL instead I just draw the shortcut gesture using touch screen and website would open.
Now coming back, I was looking something similar for my PC where I could assign some shortcuts and open my favorite website without having to type complete URL.
I found this interesting tip for Google Chrome browser. You can use this tip to open your favorite website or bookmarked website with keyword shortcuts.
Open Google Chrome browser and right-click on the address bar and select option Edit Search Engines.

If you are using Chrome version 10, preferences search engine tab will open. At the end you can 3 blank text box with Add a new search engine, Keyword and URL with %s in place of query.

In the first text box, write your favorite website name, in 2nd text box, write the keyword shortcut which you would like to assign and in the last text box, type the complete URL of the website.

Now open a new chrome browser tab and click on address bar and write the assigned keyword and press enter.
Voilla!! your website is opening up. Njoy faster browsing with keyword shortcuts!!
