The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI is a number, usually unique, unless forged which is used to identify GSM, WCDMA & iDEN mobile phones.
It’s usually printed inside the battery compartment of the mobile phone. The IMEI can be displayed on most mobile handsets by dialing *#06#.
The IMEI is used by the network service provider to identify valid devices and blacklist mobiles, either its was stolen or forged.
